At the crossroads of portals, the place where there is no time. No date. The only thing that matters is survival, stands a castle. Tall and imposing. The stone walls beckon you to join the revellers within. To become apart of a unique community that thrives and ever grows, within the monster stone walls of The Keep, as it is affectionately known.

Despite the somewhat coarse and medieval appearance of The Keep the rooms are lavishly decorated. Rooms that as yet have been undiscovered. Perhaps a wandering soul may press their boots upon the stone floor and discover them. Opulence is a must within this place, for little else is so magnificent. There must always be a talking point. The gathering place is that talking point, that conversation starter.

On first entering the room from the south end your eyes are immediately led up to the large staircase before you, sweeping and winding, it demanding your attention as it leads to rooms above. Those rooms that have yet to be discovered. The secret ones.

The room is lavishly decorated with furniture from all periods. Warm and inviting couches, intricate antique tables and chairs are spread throughout the large an inviting room. The footsteps of a myriad of people have worn the granite to a comfortable glowing stone. Along the west wall a fireplace, the fire always tended to and burning for those who find the air a little chilly. Opposite this the many French doors open onto the balcony. Even here no expense has been spared with the benches that stand and over look the Rose garden, with the winding stone paths, and eventually lead out to the Lake. To the left you see the forest that you walked through to get here, the path all but obscured by the trees. To the right the cemetery lays. The headstones some laying at crooked angles, other’s standing straight and tall and strong as if they were only put there yesterday, can be seen. To the left, a hedged labyrinth. Kept lovingly, diligently. It almost looks out of place with the care which is glarigly apparent. Walls that would hide even the tallest of men. In Winter the heavy velvet curtains hang to keep out the winter chill of snows that fall. In Summer they are replaced with the light, gauzy ones that shimmer and dance with the breeze that may or may not blow through the open windows.

The North end of the large room holds the bar. Well stocked of anything that patrons may wish to drink. Libations are not lacking. And behind this the kitchen that guests may use at their disposal. The heavy marble counter highly polished is the pinnacle and meeting place for friends and foes alike. The hub of the room. Set before this bar the stools, no ordinary stools for this room. Comfortable low backed stools that would ease the aches and pains of the most hardened traveller.
